DEAD RECKONING RULES


There aren't too many rules, and they're all pretty easy to follow, but be sure to read them thoroughly for the key word you'll need in your application. Any questions about these rules? Send me or cory a personal message). If there is an infraction of the rules, you'll be punished in a 'three strikes you're out' fashion.
First time - warning PM from an admin & 1 day suspension
Second time - 1 week suspension
Third time - Permanent Banishment

O u t of C h a r a c t e r ;

RESPECT Everyone from members, to guests, to admins deserve respect. I won't tolerate anyone being rude or arguing with one another. If you're having a serious dispute, PM the person. DO NOT start arguments in threads or the c-box.

SPAM All ooc chat in roleplays should be kept to an absolute minimum. In out of character threads a little spam is fine, but in roleplays repeated ooc posts are not allowed. With that, also do not double post unless (again) it is in an out of character board, but even then try to keep the spam to a minimum.

ACTIVITY Please keep active. I will run activity check periodically to ensure there aren't any dead accounts. If you're going to be absent you must let us know in the Leave of Absence board. All members who have posted in the Leave of Absence board will be excused from those activity checks.

ACCOUNTS You are allowed to create as many characters as you like, so long as you can remain active with all of them. Although you are allowed multiple characters, they must all be kept on seperate accounts. Only 1 character per account.

GRAPHICS Avatars must be sized 100 x 100. Signatures I'm not extremely fussy with so long as it doesn't stretch the forum. Also, NO NUDITY what so ever is premitted in your avatar or signature. Even a link to a nude picture will have you immediately banned. This is the only case in which the 'three strikes you're out' policy does not apply. I will immediately delete and ban anyone who disobeys this rule without question. So what's appropriate and what's not? If you're wondering whether or not your signature is too revealing, chances are it is. If you have to question it; don't use it.

APPLICATIONS Every member must submit an application before they can start role playing. Your application must be accepted before you can post anywhere (roleplays, biographies, etc.) other than the OOC board. All applications are to be submitted FINISHED. Save it to a word processing program if you can't finish it in one shot. Also note that when creating your second character, you don't need another roleplay sample. Just say 'anything by: ______' and state your previous character.

I n C h a r a c t e r ;

DISPLAY NAMES Your display name must read your characters name once you've been accepted. Anything like hotgrl2347 and we'll know you haven't read the rules. If your character has a really long name, you could always of course shorten it, but NO SCREEN NAMES.

CHATSPEAK Plain and simple; chat speak will not be tolerated at this site other than in the c-box.

NO GOD MODELING God modeling is one of my biggest pet peeves ever. It is not allowed on this site. An example of god modeling is: Peter through a punch at Adam before he had time to react and killed him. You can't depict what is going to happen before giving the other person a chance to reply. Which leads us to the next rule.

KILLING Killing is allowed, however, you must recieve premission to kill off a character from the victim in question as well as an admin. Killing without permission is not allowed.

NO PERFECT CHARACTERS Everyone has flaws; and that includes your character! This is yet another of my pet peeves, and is not allowed on this site. An example of a perfect character would be: Sally was everyone's favourite person. She was beautiful, athletic, intelligent, and rich. She didn't have any enemies. Every girl wanted to be her and every guy wanted to date her... As you can see, VERY annoying. Don't do it.

PROFANITY Sex, violence, swearing etc. is all allowed, but you must give an indication of the threads rating in the subject. Put an [R] for restriced or [MC] for mature content. Anything like that. Though these things are allowed, if you go over board you'll recieve a warning PM from an admin.

PLOT LINES If a drastic plot line is going to take place, you must let an admin know prior to. Also be realistic with your plot lines. Don't have your character getting preggers every week. Also, plots that would effect the rest of the site (such as a death) must be discussed with an admin prior to taking place as well.

ADVANCED Posts must be a minimum of 500 words!!! This is an advanced site and one of the most crucial rules. If you submit an application with a great roleplay sample, but then end up role playing anything less than 500 words, you will be notified by an admin and risk being deleted. Put the word shooter in the keyword section of your application so we know you've read the rules. Obviously if you're having a bit of writers block and can only come up with 399 it's not a big deal, but any few sentance posts, and you'll definately be notified.

LITERACY Spell check is your friend. Please use it. Indefinately you'll be bound to make some errors that spell check won't pick up but that's fine, just proofread your work. All role playing must be in third person unless you are explaining the thoughts of your character.
